Harpy Eagle
We walked for a couple of hours to reach the Harpy nest site, stopping to admire the gorgeous birds and scenery along the way. The nest was empty and didn't appear to be in active use. And then, seemingly out of nowhere, an eagle flew in and perched nearby!
Although only 8m old, the young female was breathtakingly impressive. And very interactive, constantly tilting her head and leaning over to get a better look at her admirers.
